Lesson 1 webpage
This page, functioning as a Home Page, is the main entry point to all pages implementing my assignments for all lessons of "Build Your Website I" course I took at the LVS Online school on the Internet. The school has an excellent curriculum with diversified courses and great teachers. The online classes are perfect for senior learners, homeschoolers, or those seeking a stress-relieving hobby or even a career change. This course was the first one in a series of courses I plan to take to upgrade my skills in this exciting area.
This lesson dealt with tools, basic XHTML tags and the creation of a basic web page. The web page for Lesson 1 can be seen by clicking on the thumbnail graphics below.
Lesson 2 focused on more XHTML tags, basic CSS, the concept of inheritance, special characters and links. By clicking on the thumbnail graphics below Lesson 2 web page can be viewed.
Lesson 3 outlined CSS font properties, CSS text properties and pseudo-classes. In this lesson we started to really decorate the web page. The Lesson 3 web page can be seen by clicking on the thumbnail graphics below.
In Lesson 4 we learned about images, web page optimization and the concept of resizing as well as compressing images, the <img> tag and its attributes, uploading an image file to the server, thumbnail graphics, classes and the <div> and <span> tags. Lesson 5 thought us to work with margins, padding and tables. Tables can be very complicated so one needs to do a lot of practicing to feel comfortable with this element. The web page for Lesson 5 can be seen after clicking on the thumbnail graphics below.
In Lesson 6 we learned about meta tags, directories and paths, how to move from one level in the directory structure to another one and about the function of the index.html page. The web page for Lesson 6 can be viewed by clicking on the thumbnail graphics below.
