"TA DA!" Instead of saying "Look what I just did!", the expression "Ta da!" was orginally used by magicians as they surprised their audience while they pulled a rabbit out of a hat. Today, "Ta da!" can be used to suggest the sound of fanfare, an exclamation of triumph or pride accompanying an announcement, or surprised achievement.
Thanks to Deb Hoffmann, one of my instructors at LVS Online Learning Center, I'm the one that's been surprised at the web pages I'm learning to build! It seems that lately I've been pulling off a little CSS positioning magic instead of pulling out my hair.
After struggling for a few years to learn XHTML/CSS, I've sort of adopted Deb as my mentor for this 6-week LVS Build Your Website I class. She is extremely gifted when it comes to having the patience to answer our gazillion questions and once when I had difficulty with a lesson, it seemed like she reviewed my assignment around 9 times coaching me every step of the way to make the needed corrections! She goes the extra mile to be certain that each one of her student's "gets it" before moving on to the next lesson or the second subsequent LVS Build Your Website II class. Because of the excellent training material she's written and her hovering over our class forum, I now have a solid understanding of the basic HTML/CSS fundamental building blocks.
This 6-week session will be ending soon, but its just another beginning for me. I'll be adding more advanced web building skills to my "toolbox" while taking the Web Build II and Web Build III courses in the Fall!
If you or your friends would like to hear more about this fun way of learning at LVS, contact LVS directly for more information. I'm sorry, but due to excessive spamming of the LVS form, LVS has de-activated the reply form until they can put something else in place.
