Carrie's First Attempt

Before we go any further, let me just say that Deb has scared me absolutely to pieces with her statement about how insecure Internet Explorer is.
I never knew that. And I'm so used to IE.

What To Do?

How can I change to another browser? My son once tried to get Mozilla for me. I can't remember why it didn't work.
Maybe we should try it again sometime. Soon.

Where There's a Will, There's a Way. So They Say.

And there had better be a way, because I don't want anybody messing with my new(ish) computer. I haven't even had it a year and I can't afford another right now. Besides, it has a lot of stuff on it that I'm not ready to lose.
What makes it especially worrisome is that I have a wireless connection. I used to be wired, but after my dog, who really is old enough to know better, chewed through the cable two days in a row, I decided to go wireless. Cables are cheap compared with the wireless components, but a new one every day adds up. Plus, it's 15 miles to Radio Shack, and with gas prices. . . .

A Girl's Gotta Do What a Girl's Gotta Do

So for now I'll save my stuff on floppies, which I pretty much do anyway in case the whole thing self-destructs. (It's a Dell laptop with a battery that's probably okay, but is a very close relative of the bad ones. I checked the web site.) Once I've saved everything, then I'll look around for a new browser.

Why Does Life Have to be So Complicated?
