First there was me then I got married, now we're two. Then we had a baby that makes three. Along came another so now we're four. Got divorced and left loser, my family is back to three. Brianne found Greg so we're up to four. Chelsea had Jonah now my little family has grown to five. Bri and Greg welcomed Ethan 15 days after Jonah was born. My little family is really growing. Baby IT is on the way! Wow, my little family that started out with just me has grown to seven. I hope we keep growing and stay as close as we are now! And yes now it's picture time!

It devastated me when my girls went out to explore the world and “find” themselves. Of course the timing was a bit off. Chelsea moved to Kansas City a month before I was diagnosed and had surgery. Everyone who knows us comments that we don't have the usual mother daughter relationship. My girls are my bestfriends! I have raised them to respect all people and cultures especially each other and myself.
Chelsea and I like to make up theories and we talk about everything in the world you can imagine. Our tastes are mostly the same and we both like to cook. Chelsea is our Italian chef and her Chicken Marsala and Chicken fettucine alfredo with mushrooms, asparagus and cherry tomatoes is better than you can find in any restaraunt. I of course am the Mexican Chef. For instance tonight for supper we had chicken fajitas from scratch. I love to make Green Chili and roast my own peppers on the stove. My favorite though has to be chicken taquitos made from scratch, of course. When we move I want a tortilla press so I can make my own corn tortillas.
It amazes me that this woman is my daughter and is the little bundle that took so long to enter the world 29 years ago. She is one of the most beautiful women I have ever seen. And no matter where we go men from the age of 92 to 3 years old always turn and stare. I'm so proud of her and the person she has become. The one thing I wish for her is that she finds her soul mate. All her life all she wanted to be was a wife and mother.
Jonah is the most tenacious little boy you'll ever meet. He is always very busy. When he was born he was blue, really, really blue. He cried right away but it took a couple of hours for him to pink up. He should not be as healthy as he is but knock on wood, he's perfect. His first apgar score was four. And for a Apgar Score first apgar score of four a child should either have died or been very sick for a very long length of time. Jonah caught up amazingly fast and his second and third apgar score was 6 and 8. Our doctor was amazed because this never happens. He hasn't stopped eating since. For a child born so small 7 pounds 2 ounces he continually eats more than his doctor can believe. Our grocery bill will sky rocket when he becomes a teenager.
Jonah will be two this January. He's just gorgeous and looks exactly like his mother. I think she just cloned herself. It's amazing. His hair is so curly that the second you comb it after his bath it boings itself into little curls all over his head. Jonah's hair didn't start out curly. Just recently now his nickname is Curly McCurlyson. What a joy to be so close to one of my grandchildren. I am blessed!
With alabaster skin and a face carved from porcelain Brianne was in a hurry to enter the world. With a two hour labor and delivery we barely made it to the hospital that was 45 mintues away. She is the artist I always wanted to be. Her kindness to all people and creatures often gives her pain and sadness. She is gentle, kind and has a unique viewpoint on the world. We are most alike in that she likes to do the things Chelsea doesn't and vice versa. Shopping, discussing art, talking about architecture and lots more. I miss her dearly and cannot wait to move and be near her, to see her often and watch her children grow.
Born an artist she is now an avid photographer. In high school she was on the newspaper and learned to take and develop her own pictures. Both of my girls balance and compliment each other and I am the luckiest mother in the world. She loves old black and white movies and Lucille Ball. She and Greg like to dance in the living room with Frank Sinatra and that era playing on the stereo. How romantic!
When people who know Brianne ask me what I think of Greg or do I like him. This is what I tell them. If I had to choose someone for Brianne that was perfect. It would be Greg. I genuinely like him and feel close to him. He is extremely intelligent and very funny. Although like all young men he has not yet learned humility and respect for all people and their circumstances. I am hoping that will come with age and wisdom. I knew he was perfect because when Brianne used to fall asleep on the couch he would pick her up and carry her to bed. He's very romantic and plans weekend getaways and date night. I hope their love will last a lifetime.
Ethan is my blond haired angel and I am so far away from him. I know he will not be two until the end of January and he's still so young that maybe I'll have time to catch up and get close to him. He is very advanced for a little boy his age and talks up a storm, brushes his teeth and showers with his mom. He is a very lucky little boy because he has 4 grandmas in Indiana and two in Kansas. His grandmas in Indiana dote on him something fierce.
Baby It is due on March 16. It will kill me to miss another grandchild's birth. I hope she has a girl but I'm sure it'll be a boy. I want to move, our apartment is ready, we're ready but unfortunately the house has to sell first. We should have moved right before Jonah was born.
That's the story of my little family of seven. I miss the half that's far away desperately and yet I'm so grateful for the half I do have! I have a very large family that's here in Kansas. I know my second cousins and some of my third cousins. When we get together at Thanksgiving with just my mom, my two brothers and my sister we are 37 strong. If we add aunts, uncles and cousins then we number in the hundreds. So I have family close. Just not the half that is nearest and dearest to my heart.
Here's a picture of the boys. We want them to grow up together and become best friends.
