As you've noticed, the theme for this page distinctly favors one gender over the other, but that's just speculation for now. If we do have a girl, I will finally have someone on my side in this household; Mike already has Isaac, Simon, Petey (the dog), and Boss (the guinea pig, whom I can't prove is male but has several male characteristics, including the inability to pick up after itself).
According to www.pregnancy.org's pregnancy calendar, the baby is now 15 weeks old, weighs 2.47 ounces, and is 4 inches long. Her tail has disappeared, and her head makes up about half of her total size. She has vocal chords, finger and toenails, external sex organs, ribs, and a backbone. Her skin is so thin that, if we could actually see her, we could see all of her blood vessels. Her hearing capability is developing, but because the auditory centers in her brain haven't formed, she doesn't really process sounds.
Of course, no one can endure pregnancy without complaining a little bit, and I am certainly no exception. I have experienced varying degrees of discomfort during the last three months, all caused by a tiny being no larger than my thumb. Here's a list of common pregnancy woes at this stage of gestation:
Altered sense of taste (strong perception of bitter tastes - not good)
Heightened sense of smell (in a house full of boys, this is also not good)
Varicose veins
Fatigue
Mood swings
